A Coach Who Gets Farming and Understands the Pressures Involved

Frank Hynes grew up surrounded by farming life and understands its challenges inside out. He knows the unique pressures that come with farming — because he's lived them himself, and worked alongside farmers for many years.

He understands the satisfaction of a good harvest and the pride in caring for livestock, but he also knows the exhaustion of back-to-back seasons. He appreciates the reality of long days, unpredictable setbacks, and the toll the job can take on your health and family.

After hitting his own breaking point, Frank discovered that the cycle of "just keeping going" isn't sustainable. He learned that real change comes from getting clear on what matters most and creating a practical plan to achieve it.

Today, Frank helps other farmers take back control without sacrificing the work they love. His coaching is friendly, straightforward, and rooted in real experience—offering plain language advice with no jargon, just results.

Frank's Core Beliefs

  • Farming should be sustainable for both the farmer and the land.

  • No farmer should have to sacrifice family or well-being for the farm.

A Little More About Frank Hynes

I come from County Galway in the west of Ireland. I am married to Teresa and we have 4 adult children. I care passionately about family life and place huge importance in having a good life-work balance. I believe that happiness at work is the key to success both at work and in our personal lives. This is true for farming or whatever area your work lies. I believe our work life must be set up in a way that supports us in our effort to enjoy our lives and enables us to live the best life we possibly can. I encourage anybody who is not satisfied how their life is going to make changes so you get to live life to the full.

Hiking

Hiking allows me to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. There’s something grounding about being surrounded by hills, trees, and open sky. It’s where I get time to think — or not think at all. I often find that the best ideas and moments of clarity come when I’m simply walking a quiet trail.

Sky-Diving

There’s nothing quite like the rush of sky-diving — that heart-stopping moment when you leap from the plane and feel the wind carry you. It reminds me how important it is to face our fears, trust the process, and embrace the unknown. Whether it’s jumping out of a plane or taking a leap in life or business, courage always pays off.

Water Skiing

Skimming across the water, feeling the spray on your face and the pull of the rope — water skiing is pure joy. It’s a moment when everything else fades away, and you’re fully present. For me, it’s a great reminder that balance and focus are key, not just on the water but in life too.

Background

Frank Hynes is from a farming background and runs a small farm in the west of Ireland. He spent 28 years working in the public sector, working directly with the farming community and the wider agricultural industry. He therefore deeply understands the challenges faced by farmers and their families. He understands that life can be far from easy, no matter how much a farmer is committed to their land and their animals.

My Career Change

As with so many other employees there were issues about my job that resulted in me not living my best life. I was contemplating changing careers for many years. However, due to lots of procrastination and little information being available that helped me with decisions, the years were ticking by and I was just getting older. In late 2017 - early 2018 I considered how I would feel in 4 to 5 years down the road. I concluded I did not want to look back with regret having been too fearful to address the issues I was having in my career. Therefore, I made the decision to leave my job in 2018.

My Mission

My “mission” is to help people be the best they can be so that they can enjoy life and enrich the lives of those around them. This mission matches perfectly when I am helping farmers face their challenges. Frank Hynes Coaching and Fresh Pastures supports this mission.
