Free Tools and Resources to Make Farm Life Easier — Starting Today

I know how hard it can be to find time for yourself, especially during busy seasons. That’s why I’ve created these quick, easy-to-use resources for farmers. They’re designed to give you an instant boost in clarity, focus, and balance — without adding more to your plate.

The Weekly Reset Checklist

Running a farm means no two weeks are the same. That’s why it’s so easy for important things — both on and off the farm — to get lost in the shuffle. This quick, 10-minute Weekly Reset will help you take charge of your time, stay ahead of pressures, and protect space for what matters most.

5 Signs Your Farm Is Running You (& Not the Other Way Around)

Farming is demanding, but it should be rewarding too. If your work is draining your energy instead of fuelling it, it’s time to pause and take stock. These five warning signs can help you see where the pressure is building — and what to do about it before it gets out of hand.

One Small Step: 7 Free Ways to Boost Your Health & Wellbeing

Life for farmers is full of challenges—long hours, uncertainty, and constant pressure. But looking after yourself doesn't have to mean a massive lifestyle overhaul. In fact, you don't need big changes to feel better; just one small step, taken often, can make a significant difference. Download my free guide, "One Small Step," to discover seven simple, free strategies you can try anytime to reduce stress and boost your mood. From breathing techniques that calm your nervous system to simple habits that improve your focus, these are practical tools designed specifically for farmers and their families.

Hiking

Hiking allows me to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. There’s something grounding about being surrounded by hills, trees, and open sky. It’s where I get time to think — or not think at all. I often find that the best ideas and moments of clarity come when I’m simply walking a quiet trail.

Sky-diving

There’s nothing quite like the rush of sky-diving — that heart-stopping moment when you leap from the plane and feel the wind carry you. It reminds me how important it is to face our fears, trust the process, and embrace the unknown. Whether it’s jumping out of a plane or taking a leap in life or business, courage always pays off.

Water Skiing

Skimming across the water, feeling the spray on your face and the pull of the rope — water skiing is pure joy. It’s a moment when everything else fades away, and you’re fully present. For me, it’s a great reminder that balance and focus are key, not just on the water but in life too.

Background

I am from a farming background and run a small farm in the west of Ireland. I spent 28 years working in the public sector, working directly with the farming community and the wider agricultural industry. I therefore deeply understand the challenges faced by farmers and their families. I also understand the challenges faced by employees working for someone else.

Lists are a great way to help manage tasks that need to be addressed. But it is not the actual list that is important, but how you use that list and what you do with it that is important. If you do not use the list wisely it can cause stress, but used wisely, it is a very effective management tool. Here I share some ideas, with many more ideas to be shared about lists.

My Career Change

As with so many other employees there were issues about my job that resulted in me not living my best life. I was contemplating changing careers for many years. However, due to lots of procrastination and little information being available that helped me with decisions, the years were ticking by and I was just getting older. In late 2017 - early 2018 I considered how I would feel in 4 to 5 years down the road. I concluded I did not want to look back with regret having been too fearful to address the issues I was having in my career. Therefore, I made the decision to leave my job in 2018.

Support That Fits Real Farming Life

Having worked over 3 decades with the agricultural community, it is not surprising that I returned to work with farmers. I had always recognised there was a Health and Wellbeing concern for farmers. I established “Fresh Pastures” in 2019, to help those involved in farming to face their challenges so that you get to experience the full joys of life. Now, if there is anything I can do to support you in your own journey, then you only have to ask!
