I come from County Galway in the west of Ireland. I am married to Teresa and we have 4 adult children. I care passionately about family life and place huge importance in having a good life-work balance. I believe that happiness at work is the key to success both at work and in our personal lives. This is true for farming or whatever area your work lies. I believe our work life must be set up in a way that supports us in our effort to enjoy our lives and enables us to live the best life we possibly can. I encourage anybody who is not satisfied how their life is going to make changes so you get to live life to the full.
Hiking allows me to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with nature. There’s something grounding about being surrounded by hills, trees, and open sky. It’s where I get time to think — or not think at all. I often find that the best ideas and moments of clarity come when I’m simply walking a quiet trail.

There’s nothing quite like the rush of sky-diving — that heart-stopping moment when you leap from the plane and feel the wind carry you. It reminds me how important it is to face our fears, trust the process, and embrace the unknown. Whether it’s jumping out of a plane or taking a leap in life or business, courage always pays off.

Skimming across the water, feeling the spray on your face and the pull of the rope — water skiing is pure joy. It’s a moment when everything else fades away, and you’re fully present. For me, it’s a great reminder that balance and focus are key, not just on the water but in life too.

I am from a farming background and run a small farm in the west of Ireland. I spent 28 years working in the public sector, working directly with the farming community and the wider agricultural industry. I therefore deeply understand the challenges faced by farmers and their families. I also understand the challenges faced by employees working for someone else.

This decision to leave my public sector job led me to many directions. I got to address a number of business meetings such as at the World trade Centre in Dubai. I attended training in the US and in the UK.

Having worked over 3 decades with the agricultural community, it is not surprising that I returned to work with farmers. I had always recognised there was a Health and Wellbeing concern for farmers. I established “Fresh Pastures” in 2019, to help those involved in farming to face their challenges so that you get to experience the full joys of life.
My “mission” is to help people be the best they can be so that they can enjoy life and enrich the lives of those around them. This mission matches perfectly when I am helping farmers face their challenges. Frank Hynes Coaching and Fresh Pastures supports this mission.
